Bede has been planting, weeding, mowing and pruning, and generally getting all of the gardens in shape for our Open Day. The village is looking bright and beautiful, and a riot of colours.

He has also been overseeing the sowing of new lawns in several areas of the village, and the planting of some 65 poplars around the periphery will certainly keep him busy. Also on the gardening agenda was the planting of a few mature trees, adding to the landscape of the gardens. Other plantings continue seasonally to ensure the gardens are always colourful and interesting.

The village green is a quiet spot to sit with a good book - under the apple trees, perhaps, and a place to avail yourself of apples, plums, peaches and pears.
